When we decided to lease Matteo's dam to do the breeding that produced this exceptional young dog, we were really hoping that mother nature would bring us a smooth boy to add to our lives here at Davenloch.  Well, mother nature delivered and then some! Matteo's dam is a daughter of American Grand Champion Gold Southland Aurealis Island Nights ROM and we jumped at the opportunity to have her here to breed her to our Rowan, whose pedigree complimented hers so very nicely!

 

As it turns out, this boy began his show career, by turning heads at the U.S. specialties under well respected breeder judges, to finish his U.S. title in short order, with all majors, and in high style!  He also caught the attention of esteemed breeder and all breed judges at his first Canadian specialties and all breed shows as he finished his Canadian title also in short order.

At the tender age of 14 months, Matteo, attended the 2024 Collie Club of America National Specialty in Peoria, Illinois, where he made the final cut of male specials to stand in the ring to the very end ,

alongside some of the world's best smooth Collies..... a real honour for such a young boy who is only getting started. 

​

Matteo excels in detail of head, long lean and clean, no depth, a beautiful outline, and structure that is exhibited in his flowing floating movement.  

​

He will be back out looking to garner the last 2 points he needs to obtain his American Grand Champion title as soon as possible.

​

Matteo has bred his first girl here, our own Canadian Champion Davenloch Material Girl - Vogue, and we eagerly anticipate his first litter here January 1, 2025 if all goes as planned.
